Standard, Premium, Platinum, and Touch 1.0 systems include a built in cabinet door alarm.
The Open Door Alarm is a configurable security measure that produces an audible alarm if a cabinet door is open but no user is signed in to the system.
Configuring
A badge with Master Access must be used to edit alarm settings
Sign in to the system using a Master Badge
Tap on the word Administration in the top right.
Tap on the Door Alarm icon to turn the Door Alarm on or off.
The slider at the bottom will control alarm volume.
HandyTrac advises against turning the door alarm off as it is an important security measure to help keep your keys secure.
Activation
When a user is done pulling or returning keys to the HandyTrac system, they must fully close the door then sign out to prevent unauthorized access to keys.
If a user does not close the door fully and signs out of the system, the alarm will activate. This is to quickly alert the employee that the door did not fully close and they must close it correctly before they walk away.
The alarm will also activate if the door is manually opened, either forcefully or with the manual backup key. This will alert all personal in the area that the cabinet door was opened without proper system authorization.
Notification
Email notifications can be configured to send an email to one or more contacts to notify them they cabinet door was opened without proper authorization. They will also receive a notification when the door is closed again.
Door Open Alarm events are recorded on the full transaction report on the HandyTrac website.
